Sheron Phillip Murphy

Sheron “Uncle” Phillip Murphy, 68, of Dayton passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was born May 27, 1950 in Mansfield, Ohio to parents Frank and Willa Lea Sanders Murphy.

Service for Mr. Murphy will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Murphy, Patrick Heathcock, Laura Drummer, Tanya Carrol, Karen Lane, and Robert Murphy.

Sheron had been a resident of Dayton for the past 25 years after moving from Pasadena. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a siding applicator, a mechanic and a handyman. “Uncle” loved being with his family especially his nieces and nephews and he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Terry Lee Murphy. Sheron is survived by his sisters, Sherry Stevens, and Theresa Murphy; sister-in-law, Marilyn Murphy; nieces and nephews, Michael Murphy, Patrick Heathcock, Laura Dummer, Tanya Stevens Carroll, and Karen Lane; great-nieces and nephews, Shevon George, Robert Murphy, Aubry Dummer, Ashley Lane, Kaleb Lane, Adam Heathcock, Michael Latham, and Autumn Carroll; great great-nieces and nephews, Cecilia Iyre, Zipporah, Lester Jr., Angelica, and Shiner; also numerous other relatives and friends.
