Tex Daniard Dowdy

Tex Daniard Dowdy, age 82 of Conroe, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He was born December 2, 1935 in Jefferson City, Tennessee to parents James Monroe Dowdy and Beulah Marcella Dowdy Bell who preceded him in death along with his sister, Jodorah Bowen.

Tex retired from American General Printing after 30+ years. He was an avid hunter and loved 4-wheeling during his retirement years. Tex loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fur babies.

Survivors include his children, Marcella Lynn Snead and husband Gene, Danny Monroe Dowdy and wife Nicole, Nancy Deann Price and husband James; grandchildren, Kelly Coffman and husband Bert, Sarah Dowdy, James Dowdy and wife Shaylin, Bryan Dowdy and wife Tristin, and Jessica Price Branscomb; step-grandchildren, Dana Johnson and Wendy Edwards; best friend and brother-in-law, Raymond Bowen; mother of his children, Johnnie Faye Dowdy; 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 3 nieces, numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

Food has been prepared at Tex’s house in Conroe for after graveside service.
