James Arnold Teel

James Arnold Teel, age 70, passed away Sunday November 11, 2018 at Liberty Dayton Hospital. James was born in Liberty, Texas November 4, 1948 the son of the late James Monroe Teel and Dorothy Brand Teel. James enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and golfing in his early years. He also enjoyed spending time on his tractor as well as cutting hay.  He loved his pets.  He was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 1967 and went on to attend Sam Houston State University where he received his bachelor’s degree. While at Sam Houston he became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and remained close to his brothers throughout the years. James last worked for Liberty County Adult Probation Department where he spent eighteen years as a Probation Officer. While at the probation department, one of James many responsibilities was the Community Work Service Program. James leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of twenty-three years Debra L. Teel of Raywood, son James Bryce Teel of Atlanta, daughter Jennifer Clark of Raywood, sisters Barbara Baxter and her husband Jackie of Lumberton, and Connie Teel of Liberty. James also leaves his two grandchildren Annye Clark and James Clark. In addition, he leaves nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and fraternity brothers. A memorial service for James will be held 11am Thursday November 15, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Liberty Education Foundation PO BOX 10437 Liberty, Texas 77575.
