Subway in Splendora robbed

Splendora Police Department is hoping the public can help identify two assailants involved in the Wednesday evening robbery of Subway restaurant, located at 14717 US 59.

Around 11 p.m., two black males entered the restaurant and grabbed the cash register and fled the store. The male clerk, who was busy restocking bags of chips, was struck by one of the assailants, according to Lt. James “Troy” Teller, spokesperson for Splendora Police Department.

The clerk was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

The two assailants are described as young black males. One was wearing a red sweater and blue jeans and the other was wearing a gray hoodie, white or faded jeans, and black and white sandals. They fled the scene in a white, multi-passenger van, Teller said.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact Splendora PD at 281-689-3448.
