Hilda Ann Redden

Hilda Ann Redden, 73, of Devers, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at her home. She was born on January 12, 1946 in Port Arthur, Texas to Wilson David and Dorothy Ruth Blackwell Ardoin.

Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was a devoted caregiver, always taking care of others more than herself. Hilda owned and operated the Cajun County Florist, a small flower shop run from the family’s barn for several years. Each year at Easter, she would make a huge family Easter basket to display and she kept a small Christmas tree up year-round. Hilda pursued many interests some of which included playing Bingo, cards, gambling on the slot machines and her favorite of all was shopping. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father Cleo Redden; her sister Diane McGalin; her best friend Lena Ruth Dement; and two grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 60 years Doyce Redden; her son Roy Allen Redden and wife Jennifer Ray of Devers; her daughter Sissy Jordan of Anahuac; her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her sister Debra Morris and husband Joe of Booneville, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Larry Allen McGalin, Derryll McGalin, Chantry Morris, Daniel Daley, Michael Ricks and Caleb Ricks. Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Szymborski, Trey Jordan, Lewis Penrod and Randy Jordan.
