John Paul Ott

John Paul Ott, 87, of Dayton, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019. John Paul was born on December 13, 1931 to Charlie and Eugenia (Linney) Ott at the Ott Hotel in Liberty, Texas owned by his grandmother where he spent much of his childhood. Graduated from Dayton High School where he was active in FFA and football. He married, raised two sons and was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon leaving the service he graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He joined Houston Lighting & Power Company in 1962 where he progressed through corporate management. Upon his retirement from HL&P he continued raising and racing quarter horses which was a lifelong passion.
John Paul is survived by family and friends and will be buried in a private service at Linney Cemetery on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m..
