J.W. Lankford

J.W. Lankford, 78, of Dayton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Liberty Dayton Regional Hospital in Liberty. J.W. was born on November 18, 1940 in Gause, Texas to parents Joseph Woodrow Lankford and Lois Beatrice Bullock Lankford.

J.W. worked for the City of Baytown for over twenty-five years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and was a valued employee. He retired several years ago and spent most days in his yard or piddling in his storage unit. J.W. had a kind heart and would do anything for friends and family. He loved animals, especially his black lab. J.W. will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

J.W. was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister Anna Mae Bryant and brother-in-law Roy Barham. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sisters Jeannie Sue Lankford, Dora Beatrice Barham; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 5pm-8pm, Friday April 26, 2019 in the chapel at Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10am at Fairlawn Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
