Authorities in Montgomery County say a five-month investigation by the Pct. 4 Constable’s Office resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old Porter man, Michael Emmons, on four counts of third-degree felony Possession of Child Pornography.
“The case was proactively initiated and was not believed to have a high probability of success due to the anonymity provided to the offender by online identity-masking applications,” according to a statement from the constable’s office. “The Pct. 4 Criminal Investigation Division, understanding the seriousness of the offense and knowing that approximately 76 percent of child porn offenders have admitted to molesting children, refused to give up on the case.”
With cooperation through multiple assisting agencies, the investigation reportedly was able to identify and apprehend Emmons without incident.
“Constable [Rowdy] Hayden has a continuing commitment to the protection of the most vulnerable members of our community and, in his capacity as constable, has given deputies his full support and resources to pursue these cases and offenders,” the statement continues.
