In an unconventional indoor ceremony at the Dayton Community Center, Mobiloil Credit Union broke ground on its newest branch location in Liberty County on Wednesday, July 10.

“We are thrilled to be expanding in the Dayton area,” said Mobiloil Credit Union President and CEO John Doucet. “We will hire local and we will be local. We hope to open the branch in December.”

Mobiloil Credit Union’s Dayton location will bring new and advanced banking technology to the area including Smart Solution Offices that allow for less wait time and more attention to members, according to the company’s press release.

The groundbreaking ceremony featured a light breakfast and refreshments before an invocation offered by Floyd Price, a member of Mobiloil’s board of directors.

“This groundbreaking is only the beginning of our commitment,” said Price during the prayer. “We seek to bring financial wholeness to the community.”

Dayton Mayor Caroline Wadzeck also offered a few comments to the group gathered in celebration of the groundbreaking.

“We are so happy to have been chosen as one of the communities Mobiloil wants to partner with,” she said.

Mobiloil Credit Union Board Member Tony Lucenti offered a brief overview of the 84 years of history the company has in Southeast Texas.

“We stay committed to the philosophy of people helping people,” said Lucenti.
