James Marvin Whitmire, Sr., age 68 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019. He was born September 10, 1950 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Lubie and Lucille Whitmire who preceded him in death.
Mr. Whitmire was a 1969 graduate of Cleveland High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. James was a rancher who loved horses. In his spare time he loved to watch the Texans and Astros.
Survivors include his sons, James Whitmire, Jr., Keith Whitmire and wife Geri; brother, Michael Whitmire; sister, Diana Johnston; grandchildren, Tanner Whitmire, Tyler Whitmire, and Taylor Whitmire; niece, Rona Leal and husband Miguel; and great nephews, Devin and Kain Leal.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Wells Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
