Dayton ISD is welcoming approximately 100 new teachers this year and the Dayton Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting a New Teacher Luncheon to welcome them.
The luncheon will be held at the Dayton Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, July 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with guest speaker, Dr. Jessica Johnson, superintendent of Dayton ISD. Pappy’s BBQ will cater the luncheon.
Local businesses are asked to donate items for swag bags that will be presented to the new teachers. Suggested items include hand sanitizer, nail files, notepads, pens, pencils, rulers and other things teachers frequently use, according to Jessica Sims, a spokesperson for the chamber.
