Winners of Dayton Christmas tree contest announced

Dayton Electric was the top donor to the Dayton Christmas Tree contest.

Winners in the City of Dayton’s annual Christmas Tree Competition were announced after the votes were tallied at the city’s Spirit of Christmas event.

Area organizations, individuals and groups decorate the trees, which are on display at the Dayton Community Center. Participants are asked to provide a donation amount of their choice. All donations go towards the Liberty County Bike for Kids program, which provides Christmas assistance to Liberty County families.

Six judges and 273 public votes determined the winning trees:

  • Most Unique Tree: Pct. 4 Constable Robby Thornton
  • Best Themed Tree: Pct. 4 Commissioner Leon Wilson
  • Most Extreme & Peoples Choice Trees: HellRaisers (Winners in both categories)

The trees will be on display throughout the rest of the year. Special thanks go out to the events top donor, Dayton Electric.
