Cleveland murder victim identified

The woman killed in a shooting incident in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 5, on the 700 block of Lyle West St. in Cleveland has been identified as 30-year-old Pamela Marquez.

Marquez, who leaves behind a young daughter, was shot multiple times in the abdomen in the front yard of a residence she shared with family members. She died at HCA Houston Healthcare Emergency Center a short time later.

Cleveland Police Capt. Scott Felts said investigators will be conducting a lot of interviews in the coming days to come up with a motive for the murder. Felts said investigators aren’t ruling anything out.

“We know how Ms. Marquez died but we don’t know why she died. Robbery may have been a motive but we are exploring all motives at this time. We are putting the puzzle together a piece at a time,” he said.

Residents who live in the area and have video recording systems at their homes are asked to review the footage and contact the police department.

Anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is encouraged to report it to the Cleveland Police Department by calling 281-592-2622 or the CPD Tip Line 281-592-0800.

Callers may also contact Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867.  Crime Stoppers may pay for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for this crime, and the caller will remain anonymous.
