The City of Dayton will be in the spotlight on Jan. 28 for a workshop and roundtable discussion held by Houston-Galveston Area Council at the Dayton Community Center.
The meeting, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon, is part of H-GAC’s Bringing Back Main Street program. The topic will be “How Small Cities are Raising Development Standards for Future Growth.” Dayton City Manager Theo Melancon and Conroe City Councilman Jody Czajkoski will be the featured speakers.
“The Bringing Back Main Street initiative offers local communities a place to share best practices and engage in a regional dialogue about revitalizing and supporting vibrant downtown spaces,” according to H-GAC. “Each quarter, community leaders gather for a roundtable on topics ranging from small business support to sidewalk infrastructure.”
The public is invited to attend. Advance registration is recommended by going online to: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07egrue1g4bb1d3550&llr=ffzt4vdab.
Dayton Community Center is located at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton.
I was glad to see them bring Old Time Days back to downtown. I believe I wrote an article about that for The Dayton News a few years ago.
