Due to water being turned off due to weather, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Daisetta/ PWS 1460004 public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

Pray that everyone makes out well during this freezing weather,but the texas politicians already campaigning about who and what’s the blame,false claims about wind turbines to natural gas to Obama. Facts are we all got caught with our pants down.,Texas doesn’t experience this type of cold weather so why invest millions of dollars towards what might happen every 100 years to prevent this catastrophe with electricity. And we are isolated on our island from other states. Set apart from receiving power or giving out.Bottom line the people in charge didn’t bye snowshoes years ago just because we live in texas, listen carefully .other states have safety measures already installed for times like these. But we saved MONEY ,I DON’T THINK SO.

It’s always better to plan ahead or have plan in place and at least two back up plans instead of no plan at all. If it’s happened once before, it’s more than likely to happen again somewhere down the line, and even if some things have never happened doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen. Mayors, Governors, Politicians, etc, should know this, and use the tax dollars for emergency preparedness and other important needs and safety of the city and its people instead of using it for a brand new sparkly whatever, (or lining a few pockets, not all do but some have) or using bare minimal or cheap materials, or whatever making something at the lowest possible standards that barely pass safety regulations, etc. I think each city/town as small as they are in this area should at least take a close enough census to be able to have enough generators (with a tracking and anti-tampering device,to loan out), food, water, and a few basic essentials to pass out during times like these with a checklist and forms to fill out. I’m almost certain that if we were attacked (Lord in heaven please forbid that from happening), or a gas leak or some other awful thing, that there is no plan or resources ( for us at least) for everybody to utilize to try and survive. I mean I could be wrong but and hope to God I am, but no one was ready for this pandemic so I can only assume we are not prepared for anything else. Titanic didn’t even have enough lifeboats, because everyone said it was unsinkable, but it did and many died because of not being prepared for the unthinkable because they said it was unsinkable.
Anyone who thinks saving money over saving people’s lives has their priorities backwards, and shouldn’t be in a position of power/authority to begin with.
