Body found in ditch in Cleveland

Crime scene tape blocks off an area where a body was found in a roadside ditch by the Walmart store in Cleveland Sunday morning.

The body of a young male, estimated to be in his young 20s, was found Sunday morning by a passerby in the ditch along the U.S. 59 service road in front of the Walmart store in Cleveland.

Authorities say the body does not appear to have suffered any trauma and the cause of death is unknown at this time.

Pct. 6 Justice of the Peace Ralph Fuller performed the inquest and ordered the body to be taken to Beaumont for autopsy.

A vehicle that is believed to have belonged to the young man was impounded by Smith Towing.
