Roosevelt Gradney

Roosevelt Gradney, 83, of Raywood, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Liberty Health Care Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Raywood, with Father Ayo Efodigbue officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Raywood.

Serving as pallbearers are Lucas Gradney, Adam Gradney Jr. Vincent Gradney, Kaizar Grady, Pedro Casillas, Harry Helmke III, Fred Mayfield, and Marion Stafford. Honorary pallbearers are August Mosley, Ernest Gradney, Adam Gradney Sr. and Joseph Booze.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

A native of Hull, TX he had lived in Raywood, since 1968 and was a Farmer and Rancher. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Raywood, for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Delma Gradney and Augustine Victorian Gradney; brothers, Velma, Lawrence, John and Percy Gradney; and sisters, Evelyn Guillory and Ernestine Whalen.

Survivors are his loving wife of 63 years Lucile Gradney of Raywood; daughter, Jacqueline Gradney of Raywood; brothers, Ernest Gradney of Houston, Adam Gradney Sr. of Raywood; and sister Rose Mayfield of Houston.
Grandchildren, April Celestine of Raywood, Monica Celestine of Atascocita, Estrellita Casillas of Raywood, Pedro ” Pete” Casillas of Raywood. Great grandchildren, Gary Powell V of Raywood, Korrigan Celestine of Atascocita.
