Liberty County sheriff’s deputy and 3 others shot, suspect still on the run

A shooting investigation is underway after three people were reported shot inside the B Dependable Plumbing Services business in Cleveland. The suspect, Pavol Vido, 65, reportedly fled the scene in one of the victim’s vehicles and ended up in a shooting with law enforcement near the Big Thicket Animal Hospital in Tarkington.

Cleveland ISD Police officer John Shannon and Deputy Richard Whitten confronted the suspect and the shooting ensued. Whitten was struck in the neck. He was airlifted to Houston area trauma Center where he is in stable condition.

Law enforcement has roped off the area around the plumbing business as they investigate.

Vido is believed to be traveling and a white Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis. if you see the suspect, report it to authorities immediately. Do not try to confront the suspect.
