As opioid abuse cases rise, Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center to host overdose training

Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center is partnering with the State Office of Rural Health, the Texas Department of Agriculture, and the Texas Association of Rural and Community Hospitals to bring overdose training to the general public. There is a growing crisis regarding opiate overdoses and it is effecting Liberty County.

On Wednesday, June 26, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Jack Hartel Building, 318 San Jacinto Ave., Liberty, hospital staff will provide training on reversing opioid overdoses through the use of Narcan.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Participants will learn how to recognize, respond, and evaluate an overdose situation.  The first 100 or so participants will also receive the reversal agent to take with them at the completion of training. No advance registration is required.
