Mitchell Glenn Deckert

Mitchell Glenn Deckert, aged 63, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2019 at Hospice in The Pines in Lufkin, Texas. Mitchell was born on September 30, 1956 to parents Joe E. Deckert and Joyce Ellen McCreight Deckert.

Mitchell loved the Dallas Cowboys, Elvis Presley and of course the Hull Daisetta Bobcats. He loved to sing, play his music box and enjoyed talking to everyone. Mitchell resided at Lufkin State Supported Living Center in Lufkin for fifty-five years before Jesus took him to heaven. We will miss him very much but being a Christian we know we will get to see him again.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; Grandparents Charlie and Myrtle McCreight, Joe and Rissie Deckert. He is left to cherish his memory his sister Karen Gandy or Hull, TX; Brother Bevil Deckert and wife Diana of Port Neches, TX; nieces Heather Johnson of Alvin, TX, Felicia Scott & friend Rick of Hull, TX; Kara Metcalf & husband Jared of Pittsburg, PA; nephews Brandon Deckert & wife Crystal of Groves, Johnathon Deckert of Groves; Great Nephew Zachary Deckert of Groves; Great nieces Anistyn Deckert of Groves; Madalyn Metcalf of Pittsburg, PA; Avery June Metcalf of Pittsburg, PA and many other loving relatives and friends.

A special thank you to all the staff at Lufkin State Supported Living Center for all the years you have provided such wonderful care of our loving precious Mitchell.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 10am at Guedry Cemetery in Batson.
