Leslie “Les” Allen Davis

Leslie “Les” Allen Davis, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Baytown, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1961, in Garland, Texas, to Shirley Graham Wakeland and the late Neubron “Red” Davis. Les attended high school in Garland, Texas and later became a dedicated auto mechanic for M&T Auto Repair in Mont Belvieu, Texas for the last fourteen years.

Les lived a simple life, yet he poured his heart into everything he did. He also worked in plumbing and as a pipefitter journeyman in his earlier years. Les was devoted to his M&T family and cherished the bond with his loved ones. Nothing brought him more joy than Graham Family Reunions and spending time with his family. Fishing along the Trinity River brought him joy, and he found contentment in the simplicity of life’s pleasures.

Les was preceded in death by his father; his siblings Ranny Wakeland and Cindy Wakeland; and his grandparents Homer and Lois Graham and Giles and Maureen Fletcher and Nolan Davis “GN”. Les is survived by his mother, Shirley Wakeland and Ray Wakeland; his son Preston Davis; his daughter Donna Sylvia; his siblings  David Davis and Randall Davis; Jenny Lindsay, James Wakeland and Marcy and Kenny Wakeland; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A celebration honoring Les’s life will be held at 10:30am, on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, located at 602 North Main Street in Dayton, Texas, with Pastor Ronnie Webb officiating. Family and friends will gather from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. at 2 Broke Cajuns Smoke House BBQ located at 1330 US-90 in Dayton, Texas for food & fellowship.
