Ruth Franchi

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ruth Franchi. Ruth was born in Breslau, Germany, to parents Willi and Marie Scholz. After spending her childhood in Breslau, Ruth relocated to Toronto, Ohio, where she married and raised her family. Ruth relocated to Cleveland, Texas, then spent time in Denver, Colorado. She returned to Cleveland, Texas, in 2021.

For a number of years, Ruth worked as a CNA, in addition to working in retail management. However, for the past 25 years, Ruth enjoyed being retired. Upon retirement, Ruth was able to pursue some of her favorite activities, such as crocheting. She also liked spending time with all her friends at the Cleveland senior citizen center, and looked forward to participating in activities like Dominoes, Bingo, and even Square Dancing.

In addition to her hobbies and active social life, Ruth’s church family played an important part in her life.  It was through her attendance at the Shepherd Lutheran church that she found a sense of community and was able to crochet items for the church outreach programs.

Above all else, Ruth loved her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than getting to see her and spend time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband John Franchi; and grandson, Jay Wingate. She is survived by her daughters Marie Wingate, Sharon Spencer; sons, Michael Spencer, Patrick Spencer, Clifford Spencer; granddaughter, Anna VanHolbeck; great-grandchildren, Harper VanHolbeck and Hayden VanHolbeck.
