It has been confirmed that Starbucks is considering opening a coffee shop in the city of Liberty. City of Liberty Assistant City Manager, Chris Jarmon, who oversees economic development for the city, provided details about the ongoing discussions with the popular coffee chain.
Jarmon revealed that the proposed Starbucks location is expected to be situated on the south side of US 90, adjacent to the old Shell station.
Following a meeting Wednesday, March 20, with Starbucks representatives, Jarmon expressed optimism about the progress, saying, “It looks good so far. We met with them today. Everything is productive, but it’s really early in the process. Everything looks good though, and they do seem very interested in a Liberty location. They tell us they plan to move forward.”
The news of a potential Starbucks establishment created a buzz on local social media after the Liberty Economic Development Corporation board shared a list of prospective development projects at its Tuesday night meeting.
Jarmon clarified the situation, noting, “Nothing really happened at the meeting regarding Starbucks. We put out a monthly report, and we talk about the people who have development plans in the city. Starbucks was on the list this month.”
While the prospect of having a local Starbucks has aroused excitement among residents, for the time being, patrons will still need to visit the Dayton Starbucks location. Jarmon reminded the community, “Remember how long it took for Wendy’s to get started on construction after it was announced they were coming to Liberty.”
As for the Popeye’s location in Liberty, which was destroyed by fire in 2022, Jarmon said his understanding is that Popeyes still plans to rebuild on the old site on US 90.
“We approved it, so now it’s up to their scheduling. Everything we have been told leads us to believe it will be rebuilt. We don’t know the actual schedule,” he said.

So, the city is helping to shut down local coffee shops in favor of Anti-American corporations??
Ok patriot, everyone’s listening, state your Facts. Not Hearsay.
The fact is they have been in the national news for not serving police, veterans, etc. patriot is exactly right. We don’t need their liberal anti American out of town overpriced coffee shop in Liberty Texas.
Starbucks coffee has, for many decades, very publically supported and hired the LGBTQ people and their supporters, to the detriment of ANYONE who doesn’t share their immoral ideologies. Their hiring practices are partial to the “alphabet people” and they discriminate against non-supporters. I humbly suggest a coffee chain who just concerns themselves with good service and great products, like Caribou Coffee, or any other wholesome, family friendly local coffee establishment.
So, if we are to believe what you have typed, it seems that you and Starbucks have much in common.
