Rock-N-Ride brings dozens of cyclists to Cleveland

Approximately 140 cyclists converged in Cleveland on Saturday, March 16, peddling their way through the early morning scenic routes of Liberty County at the Sixth Annual Rock-N-Ride, hosted by the Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce.

This event serves to not only attract cycling enthusiasts from across the region, but to put Cleveland in the spotlight and serve as a fundraiser for the Chamber.

Participants had the choice of a 56-mile or a shorter 26-mile route, going through the beautiful Sam Houston National Forest. Safety precautions, such as signage and police escorts, make this a very beginner-friendly cycling event.

Camille Landry, chairperson of the event, said that Rock-N-Ride is normally in November but had to be rescheduled last year due to weather.

Whataburger was an event sponsor, bringing a Whataburger mascot along for participants to have a photo opportunity with him. After the riders returned, they were treated with offerings of tacos and beer, and live music from Tom Foolery.
