According to Hergemueller, the male homeowner, Mario Segovia, was found seated in his vehicle outside the residence upon the arrival of the authorities.

Segovia, Mario

Earlier in the day Wednesday, March 27, his estranged wife had reportedly fled the home following alleged threats made by Segovia.

Firefighters dedicated extensive efforts over several hours to bring the blaze under control, but the house was ultimately declared a complete loss.

The cause behind this destructive fire is presently the subject of an ongoing investigation, with the possibility of additional charges being brought forth if evidence suggests intentional arson.

The response to this fire involved multiple fire departments, including those from Dayton VFD, HWY 321 VFD, Kenefick VFD, Huffman VFD, and Liberty County ESD #3. Allegiance EMS was also called upon to ensure the safety of individuals at the scene.

Segovia remains in the Liberty County Jail at this time on one count of Terroristic Threat. His bond is set at $5,000.
