Norma Laverne Bell

Norma Laverne Bell, a beloved soul, was born on November 14, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to the late Jack Mirl Bell, Sr. and Laura Jean Williams Bell. On Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 66, Norma peacefully departed to be with our Lord at her home in Splendora, Texas.

Norma is reunited in eternity with her dear parents, Jack and Jean Bell, as well as her brothers Mirl Bell, Jr. and Walter Wallace. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Lonnie Mitcham; her loving children Jason Mitcham and wife Shelly, Joshua Mitcham and wife Jamie, Krystle Bell Mantle and husband Daniel, Jeffrey Mitcham and wife Misty, and Elizabeth Hughes.

She is also survived by her siblings Connie Wallace, Freida Kay Reed and husband Weldon, Marilyn Haney, Dana Beeson, Donna Hewitt and husband Gene, Mitchell Bell and wife Connie; as well as her cherished 14 grandchildren: Jenna, Alyssa, Ian, Abigail, Kadi, Kirsten, Jackson, Isabel, Hailey, Taonna, David, Rayden, Caleb, and Brianna. Norma’s warm embrace extended to numerous nieces and nephews along with friends she held dear as family.

An accomplished musician; Norma found joy in performing with the Gospel Bells alongside her mother and sisters. Her passion for spreading the faith was evident in all she did. Time spent with Lonnie and their family brought her immense happiness; she was known for her unwavering love that touched everyone around her.

The life of Norma will be honored on Saturday; March 30th at New Life Baptist Church in Splendora. The visitation shall commence at 9:00am followed by a funeral service at 10:00am. She will then be laid to rest in the Tram Road Baptist Cemetery.  Servings as pallbearers for her service will be, Jason Mitcham, Joshua Mitcham, Jeffrey Mitcham, Daniel Mantle, Ian Mitcham, Jackson Mitcham, James Coogler, Kenneth Cox, and Douglas Coogler.

The family expresses deep gratitude for the love and support extended by Mitchell Bell and Donna Hewitt, the New Life Baptist Church, Northeast Freeway Baptist Church, Jamie and Matthew Walker and Velma Ellison during this difficult time.
