Sarah Bush was crowned as the new Miss Rodeo Cleveland Livestock Show during rodeo events held on Saturday, March 30, at the Stancil Exposition Center in Cleveland.
Hailing from Hardin, Sarah Bush is a dedicated member of Hardin 4-H and Trinity TrailBlazers. In addition to showing lambs and horses, Bush is actively involved in the youth group and music department at Hardin Baptist Church.
Competing for the prestigious title alongside two other talented young ladies, Kaylee Goolsby and Pennie Heflin, Bush emerged victorious, winning in various categories. She received awards for Horsemanship, Written Test, Interview, and Appearance, in addition to the People’s Choice Award. Her achievements were accompanied by a $200 scholarship presented by Haley Crowson in memory of Diane Reeves, who chaired the queens contest for 14 years, and a $2,500 scholarship that is part of the overall prize package for the queen.

Each young lady received well-deserved prizes for their performances in various competitions within the queens contest. Kaylee Goolsby was named second runner-up and received a $500 scholarship, a Bronc halter, Ariat apparel from Pueblo Barn and Western Wear, as well as a saddle pad and custom tumbler from Joanna Rose. Meanwhile, as the first runner-up, Pennie Heflin was honored with a $1,500 scholarship, a necklace, Stanley Tumbler from Joanna Rose, a monogrammed halter and saddle pad, a custom belt buckle, and a feed bucket and horse items donated by the Berry Family in memory of Larry Fulton.
As the newly crowned queen, Sarah Bush’s accolades included a trophy saddle and saddle pad, crown, sash, custom belt buckle, earrings, Stanley tumbler, gift certificates, sash pen, and a monogrammed serape throw, along with various other gifts. Notably, the items for the queens contest were generously donated by Randy’s Boot and Saddle Shop, Joanna Rose, LoneStar Cleaners and Boutique, as well as Marlee Brooks, the 2021 Miss Rodeo Cleveland Livestock Show. The queen prizes were proudly sponsored by Thompson Construction and Consulting.
The queens contest is organized every year by Chelene Barrett.
Although the rodeo events have concluded, the upcoming week promises to be filled with livestock show events, culminating in a youth livestock show on Friday, April 5. The auction will commence at 6:30 p.m. in the Stancil Exposition Center in Cleveland, and the public is invited to attend this event.
