JoAnn Rhodes

JoAnn Rhodes was born February 24, 1941, in Goodrich, Texas, to parents, William Word Cox and Ruby Kye Elliott Cox. Her siblings were Ruby, James, Hazel, Evelyn, Ben, Mildred, and Terry. She went to her Heavenly Home on March 29, 2024 in Cleveland, Texas at the age of 83. 

JoAnn graduated from Cleveland High School in 1959. She married Doctor James Rhodes on July 29, 1960, and they have been married for 64 years. JoAnn had many accomplishments and made many contributions to the Cleveland area, and always had a smile on her face. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was loved by all. She will be deeply missed by her family and the Cleveland community. 

JoAnn is survived by her beloved husband, James Rhodes III; son, Jimmy Rhodes and wife Kellie; daughter, Jodi Rhodes Carr; grandchildren, Nacona Rhodes McAdam and husband John, Jacob Carr and wife Molly, Cody Rhodes and wife Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Aurora McAdam, Tucker Rhodes, Luke Rhodes, on the way, Casey Carr and baby McAdam; sister, Terry Badeaux; sister-in-law, Dianne Rhodes Gardner; numerous special nieces and nephews, and cousins. 

Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 6pm-8pm. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in the Pace-Stancil Chapel at 2pm with Bro. Tim Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, Jacob Carr, Cody Rhodes, Larry Adams, Joe Bazar, Ronnie Lunsford, and Leon Wells. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Bobby Wood, Ken Everitt, Mack Richardson, Mike Barger, Charles Enloe, Bob Coleman, Jennifer Crabtree and Milton Carter.
