Gayelynn “YaYa” Pohlmeyer

Gayelynn “YaYa” Pohlmeyer, 60, of Shepherd, Texas, entered the gates of heaven on Monday, April 8, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 16, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Charles Royce Hightower and Letha Mackey Hightower.

Gayelynn “Yaya”  had a passion for traveling. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and the beach. Gayelynn “Yaya” had a love for watching the Astros play. She also loved gardening and mowing the lawn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, J.C. & Jewel Thompson and Thomas & Mary Mackey. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Larry Pohlmeyer; her beloved children, LeShea Howard and husband David, Brent Beezley and wife Diana, Benjamin Pohlmeyer and wife Rachael, and Katharine Pohlmeyer & fiancée Shelby Toney; sister, Belinda Smith; grandchildren, Valerie, Tori, Destiny, Hannah, Kelsen, Zachery, Eli, Jace, Bella, Benjamin, Lincoln, and Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Anahi, Ridley, and Izabella; and a host of loving family and treasured friends.

Visitation for Gayelynn “Yaya” will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home. A service of remembrance will also be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Honoring Gayelynn “YaYa” as pallbearers will be Kelsen Howard, Zachery Howard, William Messer, Curtis Smith Jr., Ryan Smith, and Wesley Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Eli Howard, Benjamin Pohlmeyer Jr., Jace Beezley, and Lincoln Pohlmeyer.
