Donna Marie Surber

Donna Marie Surber, 60, of La Marque, Texas, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 28, 1963, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Beverly Powell Reynold and the late Jerry Wilson.

Donna attended Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas, and Del Mar College to further her education. She was a doting grandma who idolized her grandchildren and cherished spending quality time with them. Known for her infectious happiness and great sense of humor, Donna was also loving, caring, and nurturing to all.

She deeply loved her children and their achievements, but her grandchildren and mother held the most special place in her heart. Donna never let a day pass without speaking to her mom. She found joy in spending time with her AA family, nurturing her plants, working in the yard, and flipping houses with her husband, Brian.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Glen Wilson; her brother, John David Wilson; and her grandparents, Pearl and Glen Wilson, and S. Ford Powell and Orpha Powell.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Ralph Brian Surber; her children, Derek Coronado and wife Ashley, and Desiree Dodson and husband Russell; her grandchildren, Jakob Dodson, Drake Coronado, Gracie Coronado, and Taylor Dodson; her mother, Beverly Reynold and husband Jim Reynold, Sr.; her mother-in-law, Beverly King; her sister Cheryl Reasoner and husband Johnny, and Vicki Preston and husband Brian Preston, Jr.; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Allen Shearfield, Kevin Bonifant, Jeff Myers, Donnie Johnson, Chance Kelley, and Roland Hutton. Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Reasoner, Joshua Reasoner, Brian Preston, III, Brandt Preston, and Bryce Preston.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 12 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 South Main Street in Anahuac. A celebration of Donna’s life will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery, in Anahuac, Texas.

Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
