William “Bill” Michael Lechowit

William “Bill” Michael Lechowit, a retired truck driver, passed away on May 6, 2024, in Dayton, Texas. He was born on February 7, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York. Bill served his country proudly in both the Army and the Navy.

Bill’s life will be celebrated at various services. A visitation will be held on May 15 2024, from 5 to 7 PM at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM. The Mass in honor of his life will be held on May 16, 2024, starting at 11 AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dayton. Burial will take place in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Eastgate following the service.

Throughout his life, Bill was a dedicated member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and was involved with various organizations such as Knights of Columbus Council #8871, Civil Air Patrol as a lifetime member, Liberty VFW Post #5621, and Dayton American Legion Post #512. His commitment to service and community will always be remembered.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents William Lechowit and Katheryn Frein Lechowit, and his brother Johnny Lechowit. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ramona Lechowit, daughter Michelle Lechowit Potter and husband Shawn, son Travis Lechowit and wife Carmelita, sisters Lori Cortright, Linda Connelly, Sandi Mueller and husband Dan, and Andrea Shackelford and husband Arnie. Bill also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Dillon Potter, Isabel Lechowit, Brody Potter, and Delaney Lechowit along with numerous nieces, nephews extended family members and friends.

May Bill rest in peace knowing that he touched the lives of many with his kindness and dedication. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
