Barbara Ann Shelton was born March 11, 1953, in Hammond, Indiana, to parents, Lawrence and Helen Turner Piening. She passed away May 7, 2024, in Coldspring, Texas, at the age of 71.
Barbara and her husband Paul were married for 19 years and owned and operated the Paradise Gardens and the Paradise Grill in Coldspring.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and had a host of friends in the Coldspring community. Barbara will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Helen Piening; sister, Yvonne Piening.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Paul Shelton; son, Dan Burke and wife Jennifer; daughter, Amy Kralek and husband David; grandchildren, Tyler Kralek, Dylan Kralek, Daniel Burke, and Blake Rusek; brothers, David Piening and Donnie Piening; sister, Sharon Ashcraft.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland, Texas, at 3pm with Pastor Dalton Currie officiating.In lieu of flowers, please donate to “Friends of Old Town of Coldspring.” Donations can be mailed to: 15220 State HWY 150 West, Coldspring, Texas, 77331.
