Emil Douglas Svec, better known to family and friends as “Doug”, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, in Shepherd, Texas. Doug was born to proud parents Richard and Ruby Svec in Ganado, Texas on December 13, 1960.
Doug was a hardworking man; he worked as a truck driver for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cracking open a cold can of Busch beer.
Doug will be remembered as a helpful neighbor, friend, father, and grandfather who was always there when you needed him. However, Doug always made time for what mattered most, his cherished family. He adored his grandbabies, oftentimes spoiling them rotten by showing up with sweet gifts like bags of candy. Doug will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruby Svec.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Suzanne; his loving daughter Danielle; son, Thomas; sisters, Melanda and Kelly; grandchildren, Izabella, Annilee, Remington, Leland, Ryker; nephew Arron; niece Brandy; great-nephew, Duncan; great-niece, Serenity; and fur baby, Loki.All arrangements handled under the trusted care of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
