Angela Carlene Taylor

Angela Carlene Taylor, 55, of Woodville, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1968, in Houston, Texas, to Hilda “Merle” Majors Fenton and Joseph Richard Benedick.

Angela grew up in Liberty, Texas, where she attended Liberty High School. She worked in food service as a waitress for many years, earning the affection of many patrons and colleagues with her friendly and happy-go-lucky nature.

Angela deeply loved horses, especially riding them, and found joy and relaxation in adult coloring books. She embraced a simple lifestyle, valuing life’s small, meaningful moments.

Angela was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jasper and Daisy Hayes Majors. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Merle Fenton of Liberty; her father, Joseph Benedick of Kerrville; her children, Carroll “Jr.” Ray Smith, Jr. of Cleveland, Amber Morgan and husband Leo of Liberty, and Adam Smith; her grandchildren, Brandy, Bethany, Brian, Sydney, and two others; her siblings, Tina Moore and husband Tony of Liberty, Nick Benedick and wife Angela of Kerrville, and Kimberly Mayben of Fort Worth; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Angela will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie.
