First Liberty Bank announces new board director

Jim Bob Evans was elected to the First Liberty Bank Board of Directors at the April 2024 board meeting in Liberty, Texas.

Board Chairman Charles McGuire stated, “Jim Bob Evans will add experience in financing of large commercial real estate projects to the boardroom and a philosophy of local community involvement.”

Evans has specialized in acquisitions and property management for more than 20 years. He is a graduate of Liberty High School and a 1995 graduate of The University of Texas and is committed to his community.   

Evans has been actively involved in the Trinity Valley Exposition Fair & Rodeo, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and in youth sports, including coaching little league baseball, softball, basketball, and was a past President of Liberty Youth Football.  

Raised in Devers, Texas, by parents Cora Beth and Bobby Evans, Jim Bob is looking forward to a new experience and a chance to make a difference in the community where he and his wife Casey have raised their four children: Luke, Kennedy, Reese, and Hutton. 

Evans will be joining the only locally owned bank in Liberty County, which has been a pillar in the community since 1913.

Evans will be joining the existing Board of Directors, which includes Edgar Norwood, Matthew Harris, Paul Henry, State Senator D. Mayes Middleton, Joan Jeffrey, Lisa Fleetwood, G. Larry Harris, and Kelly Stretcher.
