Convergint marked its 23rd Annual Convergint Social Responsibility Day on Friday, June 7, a company-wide initiative dedicated to giving back to local communities. This year’s efforts saw nearly 10,000 Convergint colleagues across 220 global locations participate, generating more than $3 million in payroll donations and more than $500,000 in labor and equipment contributions.
One of the standout projects this year was at Tarkington Independent School District (ISD), where dozens of volunteer workers dedicated their Friday to enhancing the district’s facilities.
At Tarkington ISD, Convergint volunteers worked tirelessly across all campuses to improve security and aesthetics. Their efforts included installing security cameras, power-washing entryways, spreading gravel for driveways, painting sports buildings, installing shelving systems, thoroughly cleaned up the District’s fleet of buses, and general tidying up to enhance the district’s overall appearance.

These enhancements are part of Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools Initiative, which was established in 2018 to strengthen school security by providing free installations, upgrades, and assessments of security systems for underserved schools globally.
All of the volunteers on Friday at Tarkington ISD came from Convergint’s Houston location.
Philip Schaefer, sales manager for Convergint’s Houston office, said the project was a labor of love.
Superintendent Elna Davis expressed her gratitude for the work performed by Convergint volunteers.
“Thank you, Convergint and its partners, for prioritizing giving back in such a meaningful way. The safety and security of our students is paramount, and anything we can do to enhance and/or add to our safety features improves the overall security posture. Thank you, Convergint. We are grateful to be a recipient of the STEP UP program,” Davis said.
Other Convergint projects under this initiative took place in Atlanta, Ga., Tualatin, Ore., Seattle, Wash., Boise, Idaho, and Bangalore, India. To date, more than 100 STEP Up projects have been completed by Convergint and its partners.
Ann Fandozzi, CEO of Convergint, highlighted the significance of this day: “Convergint Social Responsibility Day allows our colleagues, families, and partners to demonstrate the power of our Values and Beliefs within their own neighborhoods. We’re proud that this effort has continued to grow every year and, in fact, has spread across the entire security industry.”
