Recently, the Cleveland Rotary Club recognized two local educators as Paul Harris Fellows: Stephen McCanless, superintendent of Cleveland ISD, Dr. Elna Davis, superintendent of Tarkington ISD.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is an honor awarded by Rotary International to individuals who have made significant contributions to The Rotary Foundation.

Named after Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary, this recognition is given to those who donate $1,000 or more to the foundation or have that amount contributed in their name.

It acknowledges not only financial generosity but also a commitment to Rotary’s mission of promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, and growing local economies.

The Paul Harris Fellow program highlights the impact of philanthropy and service, inspiring others to contribute to humanitarian efforts worldwide.

Since 1979, the Cleveland Rotary Club has contributed more than $116,000 to Rotary International through its Paul Harris Fellows, according to West Smith, Cleveland Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow.
