Charlie M. Butler

Charlie M. Butler, 78, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Liberty, Texas. She was born on March 2, 1946, in Morgan City, Louisiana, to the late Claude and Isabelle Cavalier, Charlie led a vibrant and passionate life.

Charlie was known for her love of gambling and spending time with her mother and daughter at casinos and living in the life of luxury at the hotels. Shopping was one of her greatest hobbies, and she cherished the freedom of the open road. A devoted daughter, she had a big heart and was deeply caring and loving towards her parents and family, despite their quirks and complexities. Charlie was fiercely protective, feisty, and full of spirit—a true firecracker who loved lighthouses and frogs. She was always willing to go above and beyond for others, even when it was not in her best interest. Her love for crawfish and seafood was as large as her heart, and she remained hotheaded until her last day. Above all, she adored her children and grandchildren with her whole heart.

Charlie was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Isabelle Cavalier; her loving and devoted husband, James E. Butler; her daughter, Paula Percle; her siblings, Peggy Scully, James Cavalier, William Cavalier, and Roy Cavalier; and her son-in-law, JR Benavides.
