Do you have a child in grades 6-8 who loves to write and loves their country? The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has a great opportunity for them with the Patriot’s Pen essay contest.
This year’s theme is “My Voice in America’s Democracy.” By writing an essay on this topic, they can win cash prizes and share their thoughts on what democracy means to them. The contest is open to students in grades 6-8, and the deadline to enter is Oct. 31.
For high school students in grades 9-12, the VFW offers the Voice of Democracy essay contest. This year’s theme is “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?”
Students can explore how America today aligns with the vision of the nation’s founders. Winners of this contest receive scholarship awards. The deadline to enter is also Oct. 31.
Both contests provide an excellent chance for young writers to develop their skills, express their views, and win prizes. Visit the Liberty VFW Post 5621, located at 1520 N Main St., Liberty, for more information on how to enter.
