Public’s help needed in locating missing Batson woman

UPDATE: The missing woman has been found and is with her family members, according to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in locating 44-year-old Kristena Leander Johnston, who has been reported missing.

Johnston, a white female, age 44, was last seen leaving her residence in Batson, Texas, around 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. Johnson’s vehicle was found abandoned in Honey Island later that same night.

Witnesses reported seeing and speaking with her at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday evening and again at around 2 a.m. Monday morning in the Honey Island area. She was last seen in the same general area around 5 p.m. on Monday evening.

Johnston is described as approximately 5-feet, 4 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and blue jeans.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Johnston’s whereabouts to contact the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at 409-246-5101.
