Randy Glenn DeJohn

Randy Glenn DeJohn, 56, of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 15, 2024, at his residence in Dayton, Texas. He was born on December 12, 1967, in Dayton, Texas, to the late Ernest and Mary Loraine DeJohn.

Randy was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Texas, where he also attended school, and was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church. He dedicated many years of his life working in retail at Norcross and Brookshire Brothers in Dayton, and Walmart in Liberty, Texas. Known for his passion for reading, particularly his Bible, and his love for working on crossword puzzles, Randy was a beloved member of the community.

He was a loving son who cherished his mother deeply and was known for his sociable, kind, and humorous nature. Randy’s love for others, especially children, and his unwavering faith in the Lord defined his life. His recent passing brings solace in knowing he has been reunited with his cherished momma.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Loraine DeJohn; his brothers, Leroy and Jamie DeJohn; and his nephew David Penn. He is survived by his twin sister, Sandy Sanchez, and her husband Rogelio of Dayton, his sisters, Betty Rayas and her husband Juan of Trinity, and Brenda Weeks of Dayton. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.

Randy was a familiar face in the community, well-liked by many, and known for his warm and engaging personality. He worked diligently, always ready for a conversation with anyone who would listen. The outpouring of sorrow from the community reflects the impact of his kind and loving spirit.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held from 1pm until 4pm, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Kenefick Civic Center, 228 FM 2797, Dayton, TX 77535. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Randy to join them in remembering and honoring his life.

  1. Randy was such a lovely person to know, and to work with. Always had a smile n a hello he will be missed. Thank you for all the years of friendship.
