Caron Kaye Coursey, aged 77, of Bertram, Texas, was born on February 20, 1947, and was peacefully carried into the Lord’s Arms on August 15, 2024. She was born to Clarence Toller and Edna Starner Toller of Hutchinson, Kan.
Caron enjoyed her career as a school bus driver for 30 years, serving in Buffalo, Okla.; Dayton, Texas; and Burnet, Texas, where she retired in 2016. She loved sharing stories about the children on her bus and traveling with or to see her siblings.
An occasional trip to the casino with friends and family, particularly playing the penny machines, brought her joy. Caron was always up for an outing with her friends and cherished having a house full of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially during the holidays.
She was a wonderful wife, mom, sister, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend.
Caron Coursey married her husband, Herbert Coursey Sr., on Oct. 2, 1965, in Clayton, New Mexico, and they had 5 children. She leaves behind a large circle of family and friends who dearly love and miss her.
Caron is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Herbert Coursey Sr., her step-daughter Denise and husband Melvin Taylor, her sister Sharon Winlock, and son-in-law Jay Lackie. She is survived by her children Herbert Jr. and wife Kristy Coursey of Liberty Hill, TX; Kathy Lackie of Bertram, Texas; Howard and wife Carla Coursey of Bertram, Texas; Karen Coursey of Highlands, Texas; and Bronson and wife Ashlee Taylor of Bertram, Texas.
Her surviving siblings are Robert “Bob” Toller, Mary Duncan, VanAnn Patillo, and Donald Cozby. Caron also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Caron’s final resting place will be next to her husband in a private family cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held on August 24, 2024, at 10 AM at Cross View Baptist Church, Marble Falls, Texas, 78654.
