Jeff Humbird, 69, of Dayton, Texas, has gone on to his next great adventure with Jesus on August 25, 2024.
Born on February 12, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to Lester and Millie Humbird, Jeff was a true Texas legend. He spent his days at Brown & Root, where he wore many hats and was a mentor to anyone lucky enough to cross his path. Jeff was the go-to guy for both work and wisdom.
Outside the refinery, Jeff was a huge fan of the great outdoors, with a passion for hunting and fishing that would make any Texas-sized fish or deer nervous. He loved sharing these adventures with his boys. But his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, who could always count on Papa to show up with a smile and unconditional love.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Millie Humbird, and his siblings: Dorothy Grisson, Kirk Humbird, Lester Jr., Albert, and Wilfrey Humbird.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Humbird; his oldest son, James Humbird; his youngest son, Chris Humbird, wife, Kellye, and their daughters Jaden and Ryleigh Humbird. He is also survived by his in-laws Jerald and Wanda Robins, sister-in-law Alice Robins, the mother of his children, Vickie Sparks, and her husband, Mark Sparks. Jeff’s beloved fur babies, Bucky and Jhett, who held a special place in his heart.
Though he has left us, Jeff’s spirit remains in every hunting & fishing tale, every family gathering, and every moment of love shared. He may have put his bow away and hung up his waders, but his legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The stars are now his new hunting spot, and we bet they’re roaming.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 6 pm, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521, followed by a celebration of life which will begin at 6:00 PM.
