Controversy has engulfed Dayton City Manager Kim Judge following the release of a video showing her pole dancing on a city street following meetings on a work-related trip.
The video, which was shared on social media this week, has sparked public outcry and prompted the Dayton City Council to possibly hold a meeting on Monday, Sept. 30, 5 p.m., to discuss Judge’s future employment.
The controversy comes on the heels of a racial and sexual discrimination complaint filed by Judge against several council members. An external firm is currently investigating the complaint, which has not yet been substantiated. Judge’s employment status hangs in the balance as the council prepares to address the issue, while the video has intensified the scrutiny surrounding her leadership.
In a statement released by KGE Entertainment, a company owned by the son of Councilwoman Valorie Barton, Judge defended herself, asserting that the video was a personal moment among friends and is being used to discredit her.
The statement alleges that the video was taken three years ago, though Judge told Bluebonnet News it was a year ago. These claims have not been independently verified. The statement characterized the release of the footage as a “pathetic attempt” by a group of individuals to sway public opinion and undermine her work as city manager.
Judge’s statement highlighted her professional accomplishments, including her leadership in Dayton’s downtown revitalization and economic development efforts. The statement also emphasized Judge’s strong Christian faith and her belief in forgiveness, calling the video’s release an attack on her character.
KGE Entertainment’s statement condemned the video release as part of a “low-level smear campaign” and urged the public not to be swayed by a “false narrative.”
Bluebonnet News reached out to the City’s legal representative for comment, but as of the time of the posting of this article, no response has been received.

How about this, fire the good ole boy’s who are harassing her. It appears the good ole boy’s are butt hurt they can’t push around a strong black woman who’s smarter and more intelligent than them in total. Dayton should immediately fire the harassers. It’s obvious they’re in a bind and know it. She was having fun with friends and cutting up concerning the pole dancing incident. Someone is grabbing at straws in desperation to save themselves. This is clear retaliation and only gives credence to her discrimination complaints. Dayton should be very careful because a federal law suite could bankrupt the city if they were to lose. The good ole boy system doesn’t work anymore. Better start acting right fellows. You can’t beat her on this.

This is not about color, this is about lack of people knowing to do their jobs. They have no HR clue but they want to make a decision on a persons future.

I was always taught that when you’re on a work trip to always maintain your professionalism because you are representing the company on and off the clock because the company.is who paid for the trip. Boy have times changed.
Yes that’s correct if she is there at that moment on her own dime..not her employers no biggie…if she is there on the tax payer or employer dime that very disrespectful to those she is supposed to be representing.

She was on a work trip, but that’s not near as bad as Dayton police Department giving so called courtesy rides to sick pwopople and dumping the off 1409 and me begging them police not to let my brother out of their police Tahoe he would get hit by a car out of Dayton jurisdictions I begged and cried please hold him till I get there please he’s going get hit by a car and killed and officer admitted he knew and nothing he could do he had civil right when my brother had a stole was paralyzed right side blind legally and seeing a psychiatrist he was mentally sick you could look at him and see autopsy shows he was not on anything Dayton pd and Orange County Tx sheriff is to blame for my brother’s death April 9 ,2024. How about the reporter tell what state this is in when you say Dayton?? Is it Dayton OH, MI, AL, ID, KY, the list goes on. Or is it even in this country.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. She was fully clothed and just having a good time. It’s not at all offensive. Seems to me someone needs to get that stick out of their ass.
We need the right people in these positions. Judge is doing a fine job and should be praised for living her life and dancing. It’s dancing! Whoever posted the video, albeit likely anonymous or already taken down, should be scrutined and questioned.
My questions to those who could be elected by this article in the wrong way:
Why is someone having fun and dancing a bad thing?
My question to society: are we okay with being at this point where an action like this could end the career or someone who is a servant for our community? Someone open to living their lives and helping us live ours better? Are we okay being so easily persuaded that this article and video could possibly be taken the wrong way and end up in this person losing their position?
We’re struggling, but there’s still hope.

I’ve known Miss. Kim since my high school days in Liberty. As a whole I think Liberty County needs to stop back stabbing one another and just embrace people. She has made history as the first minority city manager in Dayton,TX. She also has had proven success in Baytown and also Sealy as the city manager. She is a great person and it’s a shame her own ethnicity would do this to her.
