Downtown Liberty will come alive with excitement on Wednesday, Oct. 16, as the annual Trinity Valley Exposition (TVE) Rodeo Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. The parade, a much-anticipated event in Liberty County, will travel south on Main Street, turning west on Sam Houston Ave. The parade draws crowds of attendees from all over Liberty County and beyond.
The TVE Rodeo Parade is one of the most highly anticipated events, with streets lined by residents eager to see local high school bands, sports teams, cheerleaders, drill teams, elected officials, businesses, and more as they parade through downtown Liberty. For many, this event marks the unofficial start of the TVE rodeo festivities, even though TVE events have been in full swing for the past week, including the popular barbecue cookoff, baby parade, and livestock judging.
Bluebonnet News will be livestreaming the rodeo parade on its Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bluebonnetnews/
After the parade, attendees can head to the TVE Fairgrounds on FM 563, south of Liberty, where the carnival will be open from Tuesday, Oct. 15, through Saturday, Oct. 19. The carnival and the fair offer a wide array of rides, games, and food vendors for all ages to enjoy.
The excitement doesn’t stop with the parade and carnival. Wednesday night will kick off the Sonny Sikes Pioneer Championship Chute-Out, an invitational rodeo event that will take place nightly through Saturday, Oct. 19. The event, which begins at 7:30 p.m. each night, will showcase top college rodeo athletes from around the country, competing in events such as Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing, and Goat Tying. Contestants will battle it out in Round One and a final Shootout Round, with the top 8 qualifiers advancing. The prize money for the event totals an impressive $130,000.
On Friday, Oct. 18, the TVE Youth Livestock Auction will take place at 10 a.m. in the rodeo arena. The auction will feature the sale of Grand and Reserve champion animals, and results will be posted on BluebonnetNews.com.
Whether you’re a rodeo fan, a parade-goer, or simply looking for fun at the carnival, the TVE has something for everyone to enjoy. For more information on TVE events, go online to https://www.tvefair.com/.

Rodeo is condemned by nearly every animal welfare organization on earth due to its inherent cruelty. Rodeo is mostly hype, a macho exercise in DOMINATION. It needs to end.
Move to California clown. I bet you share your wife also.
Sir, I hate you feel that way about an event that has been around for many year! I for one, have a family with rodeo back ground and I can assure you that not one of the animals are hurt, we pay top dollar for horses, steers, goats or any other animal. They are fed well, they get yearly vet checks for well check ups like a child does! So if you have children and you rough house with them, then CPS needs to be called on you. It’s just an opinion, so please open you tiny mind and see the whole picture, you may toughen up and find rodeo enjoyable. I’ll be praying for you in the name of Jesus. Be blessed sir.
Excellent!
