Richard “Ricky” Nelson Huntley

Richard “Ricky” Nelson Huntley, 38, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at his residence in Tempe, Arizona, where he had lived and worked for the past two years. Ricky was born on July 7, 1986, in Baytown, Texas, to Richard “Rick” Wayne Huntley and the late Connie Huntley.

Ricky graduated from Dayton High School in Dayton, Texas, with the class of 2004 and attended Lee College in Baytown. He displayed immense musical talent from an early age, having played in numerous bands since he was 16. He began his musical journey in a backyard shed in Kenefick, Texas. While he could play any instrument, his true love was the bass guitar. Most recently, he was a member of the band The Sarafonics.

Outside of music, Ricky enjoyed spending time with his wife, Tabitha, and his canine companions, Nathan and Stewart. He most recently picked up a love for being outdoors and hiking. Ricky was a foodie and always enjoyed trying new foods and restaurants. He was a retired Senior second-degree black belt in taekwondo, outranking his father. He is known for his dark humor and eclectic taste in music. He always had a generous and kind spirit and loved others deeply.

Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Huntley. He is survived by his loving wife of five years, Tabitha Huntley, of San Antonio; his father, Rick Huntley, of Dayton; his siblings: Amy Duffell and husband Anthony of Dayton, Randy Huntley and wife Roxane of Dayton, and Melanie McManus and husband Kelly  of Crosby; his nephews and niece Justin McDonald and wife Kylie, Lucas, and Emily Duffell; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton, Texas.
