E. F. “Bubba” Sherman, Jr.

E. F. “Bubba” Sherman, Jr., 69, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on Oct. 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 13, 1955, in Beaumont, Texas, to the late E. F. Sherman, Sr. and Vona Beth Sherman.

Bubba is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary “Becky” Sherman; his children, Bruce Sherman and wife Kelle, with grandsons Wyatt and Marshall; daughter Jennifer “Jenny” Goodson and husband Josh, with grandson Owen; daughter Brittany Sherman; sister Cathey Davis and husband Bill, with their children; Courtney Long; Glen Phillips and wife Kristen; Rhonda Smith and husband Wayne; and Alan Davis and wife Liza. He was a cherished grandfather and great-uncle to many.

Bubba was known for his dedication and hard work from a young age, beginning his first job at 12 years old at the lumber yard in Anahuac, Texas. He dedicated nearly 36 years to law enforcement service, starting as an officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, then serving with the Vidor Police Department and Chambers County Sheriff’s Office. A skilled Master Plumber, Bubba also owned and operated his own plumbing business in Anahuac for 40 years.

Bubba’s love for fishing, gardening and his family brought him joy and peace. Bubba was a member of Old River Baptist Church. His memory will live on through the legacy of love, hard work, and resilience he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Sherman, Glen Phillips, Josh Goodson, Jeremy Tharp, Daniel Hightower, and Dane Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Davis, Wyatt Sherman, Marshall Sherman, Jim Nelson, and Bryson Phillips.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 12pm, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm, at the funeral home, with Bro. Danny Biddy officiating. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery in Anahuac.
