
James Gallo, 84, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, in Baytown. James was born on Dec. 18, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late Tony Gallo and Camilla Curtner Blanton.
Throughout his life, James was known for his hard work and dedication. He served our country in the Marines and the Army. He spent many years as a milkman for Borden’s in Baytown and as a bread delivery driver for Sunbeam, along with multiple other adventures like owning a fuel station in Baytown, Texas, at one point, but eventually retiring after a long career. He was a loyal and caring man who found joy in the simple things: spending time with family, riding and tinkering on his four-wheelers, and heading out to the range to practice his shooting.
A deeply spiritual man, James was active in his faith and a devoted member of Mercy Gate Church in Mont Belvieu, Texas. His strength, loyalty, and steadfast character left a lasting impact on those around him. Always on the go, James had a boundless energy and a giving spirit that friends and family cherished.
James is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clyde Gallo Jr.; his twin sister, Mame Woffard; and his beloved wives, Marie Gallo, and Sherry Gallo. He is survived by his sons, David Gallo of Angleton, Texas;, John Gallo and wife Velvet of Dayton, Texas, James Gallo of Dayton, Texas; stepsons, Anthony F. Winkler and wife Sheila of Houston, Texas Mark Winkler and wife Darlene of Clute, Texas; stepdaughter Stacey Chippendale and husband Steven of Ashland Virginia; his former spouse, Sylvia Worrell of Alvin Texas; his sister, Shirley Juroska of Manvel, Texas; his brothers, Gary Curtner of Manvel, Texas, Tommy Curtner of Santa Fe, Texas, and Joey Curtner of Fredericksburg, Texas. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving friends and family.
A graveside and committal ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Cedar Crest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd., Baytown, Texas, at 11:30 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
