Bomb threat at Tarkington High School leads to evacuation

On Monday, Dec. 9, Tarkington ISD issued a notice to parents and guardians about an alleged bomb threat at Tarkington High School. The statement reads:

“Tarkington High School experienced an alleged bomb threat this morning. THS implemented security precautions by calling the school resource officers and evacuating students to TMS.  Officers, constables and the Texas highway patrol are present and are working through the district’s bomb protocol.”

The statement emphasizes that students are safe.

“TISD  takes the safety of our students and staff seriously and will keep you updated as more information is available,” the statement reads.

Law enforcement officials are still at the high school conducting an investigation. Sources close to the investigation say that the student who allegedly called in the bomb threat is being detained for questioning.
