William “Bill” A. Gilbert, Jr.

William “Bill” A. Gilbert, Jr. born Oct. 10, 1939, in San Augustine, Texas, and a longtime resident of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for many years. Bill had a long-lasting career and retired from Gulf Coast Maritime Supply Co. 

 In Addition, he was a lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Assoc. and a retired Director of the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo Assoc..

 In his pastime, Bill enjoyed watching his Houston Texans’ football team, Go Texans! Some of his favorite times were participating in various Bass fishing tournaments and fishing with his family and friends on the lake.

 Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn, three sons, Roy, Carl, and Billy, and their families.

 A visitation to celebrate Bill will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Neal Funeral Home, 200 S. Washington Ave., Cleveland, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery located at Hwy 787, Easy Street, Cleveland, Texas.

Services will be handled under the direction of Neal Funeral Home.
